Coming to Class

When coming to class, please arrive about 15 minutes early. If you are a new student, bring payment to class if you have not registered and paid online. Please note that all classes must be completed within the current session. If needed – yoga mats, blocks and straps are available at the studio for your use.

STUDIO HOURS VARY – Studio will be open approximately 30 minutes before every class and the door will be locked during most class times as only one teacher is available at a time. Studio business hours may vary so please call Angie directly if you need to schedule an appointment at 360-798-4967.

Class Descriptions

Below, please find the class descriptions with the level of intensity. This rating system is going to vary a bit by instructor, however, it is meant to help you choose the class that may be right for you. Each class is labeled with BBYE (Body Bliss Yoga East – Washougal Location) or BBYW (Body Bliss Yoga West – Vancouver Location). If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us!

◉◉ Yoga Fundamentals (BBYE, BBYW)

Yoga Fundamentals is a slow paced class for those brand new to yoga, or those who have been in class but may want to know more about the basics. We will focus on the essential elements of yoga, including the basic postures and yoga theory. Classes will begin with relaxation, a short meditation, yoga theory or breathing exercises and end with a short meditation in Savasana (Corpse Pose) to help reduce stress and integrate the class through the body and the mind.

◉◉ Flow Fundamentals (BBYE)

Flow Fundamentals is a slower paced class for those new to yoga, or those who have been in class but may want to know more about the basics. We will focus on the essential elements of yoga, including the basic postures and yoga theory. Classes will begin with relaxation, a short meditation, yoga theory or breathing exercises, include a basic flow sequence and end with a meditation in Savasana (Corpse Pose) to help reduce stress and integrate the class through the body and the mind.

◉◉◉ Vinyasa Flow (BBYE, BBYW)

In Vinyasa Flow class, we will work through creative flows, moving with the breath. This class is done in a little bit warmer space and is more intense than our Fundamentals class. Students will be offered pose variations so that each workout can be customized. Poses are a moving meditation, meant to support you in becoming more flexible, creating strength and increasing your level of endurance. Each class is different and will vary by instructor.

◉◉◉ Soul Flow (BBYE, BBYW)

This class will be an all levels Vinyasa Flow class with Dharma weaved in for a deeper experience. Often we will include inspiring themes as well as thought provoking quotes and stories to honor all of the ways that the lessons we learn on our mats translate to our every day life.

◉◉ Hatha Flow (BBYE)

Hatha Flow is taught with unique sequencing to promote a dynamic and relaxing experience. This class incorporates all aspects of a traditional Hatha yoga class – breath, meditation and postures – while challenging your co-ordination through movement.

◉◉ Sunrise Flow (BBYW)

Sunrise flow will start slowly and then build heat using sun salutations. This flow class will promote flexibility, intention and strength. Students will be offered pose variations so class can be customized to meet the needs of each practitioner. You will leave ready to tackle the day!

◉◉◉◉ Arm Balances and Inversions (BBYE, BBYW)

This will incorporate all of the essentials of a Vinyasa Flow class but will also include the option for more advanced arm balances, inversions and creative techniques. Everyone is welcome to come try out something new and step out of the box!

◉◉ Yin Yoga (BBYE, BBYW)

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular Vinyasa style yoga that emphasizes internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine and does this through deep and longer holds. Yin Yoga is not restorative yoga and like all yoga practices, if the tissues you are targeting for exercise are damaged in some way, please give yourself a chance to heal before resuming your regular practice.

*On Sundays in Vancouver: During this class students are guided through a series of traditional Yin postures accompanied with soft playing harmonium and slow singing of mantra sounds (ancient Sanskrit prayers), bathing students with powerful healing sound vibrations.

Mantra is a potent source for healing and brings the body/mind/spirit into a sacred sound frequency. It literally has an impact on a cellular level -on the makeup of the bodies DNA. With repetition of mantra, over time it begins to break down the ego and clears out the muck, or the illusion of the false self away, allowing the true self to shine through.

◉◉◉ Vin Yin (BBYE, BBYW)

Enjoy an all levels Vinyasa Flow focused on building heat, followed by cooling, longer holds in Yin postures. This class is wonderful for those who want to move but also need time and space to stretch deeply and access deeper tendons and ligaments for greater range of motion.

◉◉ Yin and Restorative (BBYW)

This gentle class stays peacefully mellow, designed with sequences that align, strengthen-and-stretch you back into perfect harmony. Long holds in restorative poses promise to deepen your breath and induce complete rest and rejuvenation. Props, quiet music and candlelight relaxes the mind and body, offering relief from stress and an opportunity for profound healing. This calming class is appropriate for everybody, at any stage of life or fitness, including those with specific goals to heal current or chronic issues.

◉◉ Yoga for Body Care (BBYE)

Spend an hour on restoration and rejuvenation techniques for the body, focused on myofascial release, yoga and ayurvedic practices. Students will have an opportunity to stretch and roll out tired muscles as well as explore a variety of practices emphasizing thyroid, adrenal and lymphatic system support.
 
This class takes a holistic approach to wellness and includes work with dry brushing, gentle fascia blasting and Gua Sha. It is sure to support your self care practice and your overall health.

◉◉ Gentle Yoga (BBYW)

Gentle yoga moves slowly through poses meant to work toward more mobility in a way that is accessible for all ages and body types. Class will include gentle poses and strengthening exercises as well as breathing techniques and short meditation.

◉◉ Gentle Kundalini (BBYW)

Our Gentle Kundalini Yoga class was created to be nourishing, safe and rejuvenating for everyone. Our goal is to assist in an energetic shift into a mindset and lifestyle of physical, emotional and mental well being. We teach from the ancient technology of Kundalini Yoga Kriyas and Meditations, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Kundalini Yoga strengthens your deep body systems – nervous, glandular, lymphatic, circulatory and activates the flow of energy up the spine to awaken, energize, and balance the chakras and magnetic field. Gentle Kundalini is open to any age or body-type and is safe for healthy pre-natal and post-natal mommies.

◉◉◉ Kundalini Yoga (BBYW, BBYE)

Clear away past patterns of being that keep you stuck and wake up your potential to meet life with a cheerful, peaceful energy. This class blends active sequences, called “kriya,” with chanting, visualizations and specific breathing techniques and meditations to create a full body experience of awakening. Throughout, you will be building a deeper awareness of your inner state of health so that your organs and energy systems can function at their best. With consistency, these practices will help you develop a clear and peaceful mind, a strong and dynamically flowing body, and an experience of the connection between the finite self and infinite consciousness. This class is accessible to healthy beginners, yet inspiring to long-time practitioners.

Restorative Yoga (BBYE, BBYW)

Let go of the day as you restore and find deep relaxation. Gentle restorative poses will help heal your body in this stress and anxiety relieving class where our focus is to completely release all tension in the body and mind. 

Private and Semi-Private Sessions

Private sessions are available by appointment for those who need therapeutic yoga or additional assistance. Use our contact form to contact us directly if you are interested in booking a private session and we will get back to you right away. Please note: there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Anything cancelled after that or no-shows are subject to a full price charge in services. Sessions are one hour in length and are priced per instructor.
