Are you ready to get on the water?

Thursdays: We will hold class every Thursday in July and August from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Schedules are released in May for pre-registration. Pre-registration is recommended as classes fill up quickly.

Saturdays: Classes on Saturday will be held every other Saturday from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.

Class registration closes 24 hours prior to each class but usually we can squeeze in a couple more so if you want to register last minute, please give us a call at 360-798-4967.

Have your own board? We welcome you to bring your own board (BYOB) and the price for that is $20.00, however you will need to call and make a reservation with Angie because we have a limited amount of anchors available. Payments for BYOB are taken at the lake. Please bring cash.

Purchase options include a single class and a 3 class pass. All sessions include the rental of a paddleboard, paddle, anchor and life vest. Instruction includes a short paddleboarding lesson on land, stretches, a short paddle, and a SUP Yoga experience.

Come enjoy the ancient practice of Yoga combined with Stand Up Paddle Boarding! These classes allow you to connect more deeply to your practice as well as to the elements. Both yoga and stand up paddle boarding are great for building better balance, coordination, endurance, and body strength!

We offer small group classes at Lacamas Lake every Thursday beginning June 29th and continuing through August 31st from 4:15 to 6PM. We also have morning classes available from 9:15 to 11AM every other Saturday beginning July 1st through the end of August. Your lesson includes a short introduction to paddle boarding on land, a short paddle on the lake and then a yoga class set to the sounds, smells and magic of nature. Classes will be for all levels.

We are so proud to be working with Sweetwater SUP Rentals this year to be able to bring you these classes. All instructors are SUP Certified as well as WPA, First Aid and AED Certified. Angie Cherry

Angie is an E-RYT as well as a SUP and WPA Certified Instructor. Getting out on the water comes natural to her and combining her love of the elements with her passion for yoga is the best of both worlds.

Carla Slocum

Carla has an infectious enthusiasm for the outdoors. She is an RYT Yoga, SUP and WPA Certified Instructor. Her passion for the elements and yoga is complimented by the caring way she leads people through class and her knowledge of the area.

Jessica Velazquez

Jessica is a certified yoga instructor and a SUP, Fitness and WPA Certified instructor as well. She brings her enthusiasm for the outdoors and adventure as well as a smooth, friendly teaching style welcoming for all levels.

Kelsey Deacon

Kelsey is a powerful yoga instructor that brings her passion to the water. She is a SUP and WPA Certified instructor and she loves the outdoors and sharing her practice with others.

FAQ’s for SUP Yoga

If I have never been on a paddle board, can I still come to class?
Yes. We will do an introduction to paddling before you even get on your board and then allow you a short time to paddle before we settle in for class. This will give you a chance to get a feel for being on the board.

What do I wear?
You can dress just like you would for a yoga class. Usually, yoga pants work great with a sports bra and tank or you can wear a bathing suit top if you want. I usually don’t recommend wearing a bathing suit bottom because of the poses. Think of doing a down dog in what you are going to wear 🙂 That should help.

Is there a weight limit?
The boards we are using right now have about a 200 lb weight limit to ensure the users safety.

Can kids come to class?
Unfortunately, for liability reasons, all participants must be at least 16 years of age.

What if I can’t swim?
Life jackets will be provided for everyone’s use and will be required to at least have on the board. You are welcome to wear them during class and this will not take away from your experience.

What if I have my own board and paddle? Can I bring those to class?
Yes. There will be two additional spots available in each class for those people that have their own board to bring. The fee will be lowered to subtract the rental fees of the boards.

What if I have never done yoga? Can I come as a beginner?
Yes, please do! This experience is different, even for the seasoned yogis so it will be a new thing for anyone who hasn’t done yoga on a SUP. Classes will be available to all levels and we welcome beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

Am I going to fall in?
The answer is probably not. Usually, during a normal class, you will not fall in the water. However, when you are trying some of the more advanced techniques which will be optional, you may run a higher risk of getting wet.
